Page notes and guidance
- — Create a shortlist from the word-list tool, say the names aloud and copy the ones you like. This does not start a video task.
- — Search for the same name on music services, social networks and relevant business registers before adopting it.
What makes a good rap duo name
Start with a name both people enjoy saying. Short words, a shared place or two contrasting ideas can give a pair an identity. Here are invented directions to try: Sidewalk Signal, Satin Transit, North & Echo, After Class. A name can also hint at your relationship, such as Cousins on Cue for two cousins. These are ideas, not availability checks. Make your shortlist with these tests:
- Say it in one breath. Read it aloud and make sure both people can introduce it naturally.
- Start with a shared detail. Try the street where you met, a nickname or a joke you both recognize.
- Try a deliberate pair. Match contrasting words, a place and a sound, or your initials; compare how each combination feels.
- Check it's free. Look beyond an exact web search: music profiles and social handles may already use it.

A name first, a video separately
A name and a concert video are separate creative choices. Selecting a suggestion can prepare the video topic, but it does not buy credits or submit a task. The current Tiny Desk tool uses the person or pet inputs shown above and generates a new desk performance; a name is not a promise that it will be sung.
